This ministry seeks to connect and pray with those who are no longer able to attend Calvary or even leave home in some cases. This is an opportunity to be a personal and Godly connection to those who have become isolated and are in need of companionship. [Top]

Greeter Ministry

Greeters are the "Ministers of first impressions" who welcome church body and visitors. They provide a warm smile and greeting while answering questions and interacting with all people and making a special effort to seek to connect with those who are unfamiliar with the Calvary body. There is also an opportunity for outgoing and personable people to guide visitors through our campus by escorting them to their destination. [Top]

Gospel Choir Ministry

This group brings joy and companionship to the lost and forgotten in nursing homes. This is also an opportunity to connect and pray with seniors who may be lonely and only on the earth for a short time longer. Gospel Choir is for adults who wish to sing "Gospel music" and help seniors remember what it was like to sing some of their favorite hymns. [Top]

PowerFull Praise Ministry

This is a select group of singers and musicians that go into enemy’s territory behind the bars of prisons and jails and to the hurting world of the rescues mission and half way houses to bring God’s hope and restoration. This group is hand picked by audition to participate in this dynamic ministry group. PowerFull Praise members minister with worship, testimony, prayer and intercession in correctional facilities and local missions. [Top]

Jail Ministry

This ministry connects with inmates and prays for them while that are behind bars. This is an opportunity to bring God’s hope and deliverance to the forefront of transforming lives. [Top]

Funeral Ministry

This ministry supports grieving families as they say goodbye to their loved ones. This is an opportunity to continue to connect with the family. As it says in Romans 12:15, "Rejoice with them that rejoice and weep with them that weep." [Top]

Water Baptism

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
- Matthew 28:19

The Meaning of Baptism

Based upon the New Testament account, water baptism is one's rightful response to Christ's command recorded in Matthew 28. While baptism is not the agency of salvation it does serve as a significant, outward sign, or testimony, of the inward work of regeneration which occurred the instant Christ was received by faith as Savior and Lord. It speaks of obedience in one's life. It also speaks of submission to Christ's Lordship and leadership. Just as importantly, it speaks of unity, submission, and commitment to His body, the church.

The Mode of Baptism

Identification with Christ in His death and burial is most clearly depicted through immersion. Being fully submersed in water is consistent with the Biblical pattern of baptism in the early church, as well as Jesus' baptism, while the coming up out of the water speaks of one’s reception and participation in the present and future benefits of Christ’s resurrection. Romans 6: 3 - 4
For those wanting to benefit from this special opportunity, there is a required instructional class, explaining why we baptize at Calvary on the Sunday mornings one week prior to the Water Baptism, which will be part of the 10:00 AM Sunday Worship Service. If you are a child, teen or adult and would like to be part of the next church-wide Water Baptism, please contact Patty at (407) 644-1199, ext. 223 or by e-mail, pattyvancleave@calvaryorlando.org to learn more.
