Calvary Assembly exists to exemplify and communicate Christ’s redemptive purposes to the world while in the process becoming a community of believers that is meaningful and relevant. Every program, building, and proposed budget must be centered on this cause.

In our desire to be a “biblically functioning community of believers”, we must grow in wisdom, knowledge, and obedience to Biblical teaching. This kind of “community” is much more than an organization; it is an organism. According to Biblical terminology, this organism is called “the church”, as well as “the Body of Christ”. To function as a living body, there must be vulnerability, synthesis, communication, and mutual submission. Each member is meaningful, gifted, and designed by God Himself to serve in a place that supports and builds up the rest of the body (Ephesians 4:11-16).

While it is a challenge to be faithful and successful in this monumental endeavor, it is the greatest cause to devote oneself to. Lives are changed, and eternities with God are being secured – one by one. Thankfully, we are not left to our own resources to carry out Christ’s plan of redemption. Since we are sent as “Christ’s ambassadors” (2 Corinthians 5:20), He equips and empowers us by His Spirit to succeed in our commission.

Becoming a member is an important and necessary step toward the fulfillment of this Great Commission. While membership is not an end to itself, it does identify those who are willing to devote themselves to this holy cause by means of Christ’s body, the church.

How does a person become a member of Calvary Assembly? Membership at Calvary begins Calvary Membership Manualwith becoming a member of God’s universal family, whereby putting one’s trust and life in Jesus (John 3:3, Romans 10:9).
