First Steps Daycare and PreSchool

"Jesus took them in His arms and blessed them." - Mark 10:16

At First Steps, we believe that children are a blessing to families and the communities in which they live.  We are dedicated to helping parents "train up their children in the way that they should go."  With this goal in mind, we commit ourselves to reflect God's love through both word and deed in the lives of children.

The teachers at First Steps use a sensitive approach in learning and teaching.  We believe that children begin to learn from birth and that each teacher is a vital part of the learning process.  Staff members understand the ages and stages of development that each child goes through, and they cater attention and teaching techniques accordingly.

We Focus Our Efforts on 4 Key Areas

Spiritual Growth

Each child is loved by and is special to God and to us. As we observe the special talents of each child, we apply Godly principles in nurturing and teaching them God’s love.

Emotional Growth

Children are created in the image of God. We want them to know that their worth and value is ordained by God, their Creator. He has a special purpose and plan for their lives. We will promote godly esteem in all children.

Social Growth

As our children interact with other children and are taught Godly principles by example and word, they will learn to be kind, cooperative, considerate and helpful.

Intellectual Growth

We will use the A Beka curriculum to promote excellence in academic learning. Our teaching expertise, along with curriculum, will emphasize phonics, letter recognition, numbers, Bible, health, safety and manners.

We are Certified by the Florida League of Christian Schools (FLOCS #4586) and  Accredited by the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools(ACTS).

Policies and Procedures

To answer detailed questions about policies and procedures, please request a First Steps Parent Handbook, available, in our office. First Steps does not discriminate based on race, color, creed or ethnic origin.

Open Door Policy

Our open door policy allows parents to view our facilities anytime during normal business hours by stopping by our office for a tour of the facility. We do discourage tours between the hours of 1:00 to 3:00 PM. since the children are resting during this time.
