A.R.K. - Acts of Random Kindness Ministry

Pastor Mike Martin

It is time to turn your Compassion for people and the community into Action!

Jesus said "Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve..." Matt. 20:28. Calvary Assembly feels led by the Lord to do more community based ministry. We want to move outside of the walls of the church and make an impact by serving the community as a body of believers in action.

Are you looking for a way to get involved to make a difference in your local community? Come find a group that interests you, fits your schedule and makes a positive impact on your community!

I am interested in volunteering in the following area(s) of ministry:

- Hover over a title for more information -
Buddy BreakThis free respite program buddies individual/family volunteers with kids with special needs one Saturday a month to bring encouragement and practical assistance. Volunteers are needed to buddy up with VIP kids, to lead music, for administration, parent concierge and more.
Cafe Leo Do you have a heart for our Law Enforcement Officers? This group offers coffee & bagels to patrolling officers. This is a great way to serve those who serve us and minister to them.
Cards of CompassionThis group will gather to create handmade cards, sign greeting cards, and write short notes to people in the hospital, nursing homes or shut-ins to let them know people care about them and are praying for them. Donations of paper, scrapbooking scraps & glue are always welcome.
Cornerstone HospiceAs a volunteer, you are a vital part of both the Cornerstone Hospice team and our entire organization. Volunteering is an action of your heart as well as a project for your mind. In addition to contributing your time energy, and talents, you will find special rewards of your own. If you have 2-4 hours available, once a week, to share yourself with another, I hope you will consider joining our Cornerstone hospice team. Here are just a few things you can do to volunteer: Patient and family services, office assistance, special events, and live enrichment. We support our volunteers with 16 hours of training, monthly in-services/continuing education, and monthly newsletters highlighting events and achievements.
Habitat for HumanityAt Habitat for Humanity Orlando, we build more than houses – we build hope for families and build strength within our communities. To accomplish this, we rely on a workforce of volunteers to help us build our homes. Both skilled and unskilled labor is always needed!
Handy HelpersDo you have a handy skill? Both skilled and unskilled labor is needed to assist members of our congregation &community that could use a reliable, trustworthy handyman, but can not afford one. We can use any type of skill or talent. If you would be interested in using your vocation and/or talents as a ministry opportunity and blessing to someone, please consider volunteering.
His Healing HandsThis ministry is a Purpose driven ministry working with those who need to find renewal in their life. It ministers in churches, in prisons and to those who need recovery from being behind bars. We need volunteers that are interested in getting involved in aftercare and mentoring with someone who is coming home from jail or rehab for drugs and/or alcohol. Meetings are held once a week to help people stay on track through discussion, encouragement, guidance &prayer. Consider becoming a positive role model &mentor.
Hubbard HouseThis facility provides families of patients from outside the Orlando area a place to stay. The Hubbard House has served thousands of families facing the extra burden of finding convenient and affordable temporary lodging in times of crisis. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve meals, as well as other things, to families staying at the house.
Knitter / CrafterThis group will fellowship as they make handcrafted items to be used &enjoyed by babies, children &their families staying at Arnold Palmer &Winnie Palmer Hospitals and/or the Beta Center. This can include but is not limited to: knitted/crocheted booties, caps and blankets.
Letters for SoldiersThis group reaches out to soldiers and military families through cards, letters of encouragement and prayer, and support. If you would like to support our troops and their families, please consider joining this group. It can be as simple as sending a thank you card.
Union Rescue MissionThe Union Mission helps the hungry and hurting in Central Florida. The facility has housing, classrooms, a learning center, nursery and gymnasium. With its vast campus they are in great need for volunteers to serve lunch and dinner, help in the nursery and family life center, tutor adults in math &reading and sort/organize clothing.
