Missions Report: Thailand/Burma

Meet Watcharapon Kukaewkasem (We call her Sia!)

Sia (missionary to thailand and burma)Sia (Watcharapon Kukaewkasem) is on a mission from the Lord. She has a love for poor children at risk near the border of Burma and Thailand. The following is Sia's story in her own words:

"My name is Watcharapon Kukaewkasem, but everyone calls me Sia. I am 25 years old. I come from Akha tribe in Chiang Rai. My family is very big and quite poor. I have 11 brothers and sisters, of which I am the oldest. When I was 6 years old, my Dad and Mom sent me to a Christian boarding school for Hill Tribe children where I first heard about Jesus. I personally met the Lord while attending the University in Chiang Mai.

In my second year, through the brothers and sisters in the small Assemblies Of God church called TLC , God began to show me who He really was in my life, what He has done for me, and how much He loves me. I loved attending small group Bible studies, where I began reading the Bible and praying. My relationship with the Lord grew as a result.

Right after I graduated, God called me to work in the South Thailand, helping Tsunami survivors. I thought I would be there only a month, and then return to work in Chiang Mai. However, it turned out I was there almost two years. While in Thailand, I worked with Thai and Burmese children. During that time, God taught me so much.

After nearly two years in South Thailand, God called me to West Thailand to the Thai Burmese border town of Maesot, where I work with migrant children, including street kids. I have already been here a year. I am so excited about how the Lord is using me for His Kingdom!

Please keep me in your prayers, that I will be ready and willing to do whatever He wants me to do, no matter what it may be.

By His Grace,

Sia"

Sia is one of many missionaries that Calvary supports. Through your giving on Mission’s Sunday we raised funds that will enable Alan Brown of Campassio Ministries to look for a safe house, which will enable Sia’s dream to become a reality; The dreams of having a center that provides help for children at risk. This will be a place where orphaned and displaced children can receive food, clothing, medical care, showers, and shelter, as well as education and Bible study.

On behalf of our Calvary Mission’s Board, we would like to thank you for giving towards Mission’s.
