 Missions Report: Cambodia
Meet Sandra One of Our Missionaries in Cambodia
This excerpt was taken from a newsletter Calvary received entitled: "Newsletter from Cambodia November 2007"
Greetings to Orlando A.O.G. Christian Church Christmas 2007
A wonderful thing happened in Bethlehem one night and we are here to tell the world. I cannot imagine God wanting His Son to leave heaven to come to Cambodia, but I know He did. And that Jesus was passionate to come. For the whole world.
I thank God for all He has done this year through my work here in Cambodia. Miracles are an every day occurrence in this dry and thirsty land where there is no (living) water.

BABY WITH H.I.V. - Srey Lin
This little 4 month old girl was brought to my clinic by her grandmother who was worried because her hair was falling out. The baby has HIV transmitted from her mother who has abandoned her. She is severely malnourished weighing 3.5kg and her baby skin felt like sandpaper.
I took her and grandma to a hospital funded by Christians and today they will test her blood and begin ante-retroviral drugs and begin giving her special nourishing milk. The grandma told me after she was worried leaving Srey Lin at the hospital because someone might sell her. I spoke to the doctor who has agreed for grandma to stay at the hospital and even she can bring the other young grandchild with her. She has a good chance to live now with this help, her life seems special somehow and she even smiled at me.
Thanks to a God who cares about every single life He created.
CLINICS
There has been such a change in the people through the clinic and other projects I have done through the church. 120 people every month are treated and shown that Jesus brings healing and hope whether through medication, clean water or just when I can help the people with their burden of living in the slum.
Last week I took a lady to a hospital which is not usually accessible to the poor because of the cost and because doctors and medical people ignore them. The lady has advanced liver cirrhosis and could hardly breathe because of all the fluid in her abdomen. After spending the morning waiting I finally got her admitted and to my surprise the doctors were kind to her and even thanked me for looking after the Cambodian people. So God had gone before us to give favour and she did receive some help there. To see her face with the gratitude and saying "Thank you Jesus" was all I needed.
Much of my clinic time is spent on health education
FAVOUR OF THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES
Great interest and appreciation continues to be shown for my work by the slum Village Chiefs. The Pastor and I will invite him to attend the church this week when we will be giving out 70 more water filters and 93 mosquito nets. In this way I can show respect for his position and also he sees the Christian Church doing good. I pray that one day he will become a believer in Jesus Christ.
Thank you Orlando Christians for continuing to support this work. The mosquito nets will make life just a little better for the poor.
PRAYER
- for the slum people while I am away for the next 6 weeks in Australia. That they will be safe and realize what Christmas is all about.
- For God to show me His good plans for my work here next year.
- For Srey Lin's healing
Thank you to all at Orlando Church for your wonderful generous giving over this past year. We are gaining ground from the enemy in Cambodia.
May God richly bless your Christmas holidays as we stand in awe of God's Son.
Love Sandy
