Our purpose in Assimilation Ministries is to incorporate all visitors and regular attendees into the church family, here at Calvary
Water Baptism
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
- Matthew 28:19
The Meaning of Baptism
Based upon the New Testament account, water baptism is one’s rightful response to Christ’s command recorded in Matthew 28. While baptism is not the agency of salvation it does serve as a significant, outward sign, or testimony, of the inward work of regeneration which occurred the instant Christ was received by faith as Savior and Lord. It speaks of obedience in one’s life. It also speaks of submission to Christy’s Lordship and leadership. Just as importantly, it speaks of unity, submission, and commitment to His body, the church.
The Mode of Baptism
Identification with Christ in His death and burial is most clearly depicted through immersion. Being fully submersed in water is consistent with the Biblical pattern of baptism in the early church, as well as Jesus’ baptism, while the coming up out of the water speaks of one’s reception and participation in the present and future benefits of Christ’s resurrection. Romans 6: 3 - 4
For those wanting to benefit from this special opportunity, there is a required instructional class, explaining why we baptize at Calvary on the Sunday mornings one week prior to the Water Baptism, which will be part of the 10:00 AM Sunday Worship Service. If you are a child, teen or adult and would like to be part of the next church-wide Water Baptism, please contact the Assimilation Ministries Office at (407) 644-1199, ext. 222 or by e-mail, to learn more.

Be a Part of an Assimilation Ministry Team
Connections
Volunteers connect people to the community of Calvary by providing information about Care Groups, Christian Life classes, and specific ministries where interest is noted. This is accomplished by contacting registered visitors by phone, thanking them for attending Calvary, answering questions, and offering to pray for any needs, thereby developing relationships. Calls can be made during the day or night.
Guest Information & Greeter Team Ministry
First impressions are essential for making Calvary Assembly a place where everyone feels welcomed. That makes Calvary Greeter Ministry a key area to serve. Volunteers serve as greeters, information suppliers and campus guides for visitors attending Sunday morning services and special events. Flexible monthly service schedules are available for any one wishing to serve.
Visitor Reception
Volunteers serve on rotation as hosts/hostesses who greet guests and serve refreshments during our weekly Visitor Reception in the Chapel on Sunday mornings immediately following the 10:00 AM service. Hosts will be trained to discuss Calvary's vision and ministry opportunities.
Water Baptism
Volunteers assist with registering candidates for baptism, along with organizing and assigning robes, towels, etc., the day of the baptisms as well as helping during the previous week’s class. Baptisms typically occur once every three months.
For more information about these areas of service, please contact the Assimilation Ministry Office at 407.644.1199 ext 22
