Calvary Reaches Orlando in Many Ways

During the last three months (Nov 07, Dec 07, Jan 08) 5,158 people were served through our Outreach Center. The hungry were fed, clothing given, blankets passed out & the Love of God shown through our devoted staff:
Richard and his wifere were helpless & homeless two months ago. With the help of our director Clint, this couple is now in a townhouse, working and serving God
Our homeless bus ministry picks up anyone on Sunday for Sunday School, breakfast, lunch and takes them to the 10 AM service. As a result of this ministry, many have come to the Lord. Steve and Sue started a Care Group for the homeless and they meet every other week.

Currently, Calvary Assembly supports over 360 missionaries or ministries, which is over 100 more than we supported in 1999. The Missions Council has formulated a strategy in keeping with the vision of the leadership, which helps the Council to evaluate each and every one of the more than 400 requests for support that are received by Calvary Assembly each month.

The credit for these accomplishments goes largely to the leadership of Calvary Assembly for allowing the Missions Council the liberty to be creative and the freedom to facilitate the vision that God has entrusted us with. It also goes to the people of Calvary Assembly, for their generosity to the call of Missions and their heart for the un-reached people of our world, our nation, and our community.

Our Missions Strategy

Foreign Missions - After praying and asking the Lord to show us an un-reached people group within the 10/40 Window, He directed us to Thailand.  We were invited to visit the city of Pattaya where Youth With A Mission was involved in ministering primarily to ladies in prostitution. In three short years, we have witnessed God at work in Pattaya in miraculous ways and the efforts there are continuing to expand. To date, we have sponsored 13 teams that have gone into the bars, sharing God¹s love to young women with no hope of ever having a better life. That is what Calvary is doing as far as a cure. Now, the prevention.  We must increase our efforts in North Thailand. Children 5 years old and up are sold into prostitution or left on the doorstep of anyone who would care for them. As they get older, there is only one place for them to go into the bars and the darkness of being used by slave traders. In 2005/2006 we have expanded Calvary's efforts by supporting orphanages and other ministries that offer help to children.

Central/South America - Central and South America are an important part of our mission's strategy. Each year, Calvary has sponsored a fact-finding team to a different country in order to plan trips for medical, evangelistic, Master's Commission, and construction/building teams. Over the past several years, we have sent teams to Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize, Cuba, Honduras, Mexico and just this year, Ecuador.

Orlando - Our third goal was to broaden Calvary¹s missions efforts in the Orlando area. Throughout 2004, the On Purpose Soul Winning Team joined together with volunteers from Calvary's Outreach Center in inviting people to a barbeque while at the same time, sharing the Gospel message with them. We relocated the Outreach Center to Edgewater Drive in 2005, which has enabled us to assist many more needy people than we have been able to help in the past.
