August calendar 2010

Hi all,

Attached is the August calendar including the attire for Sunday, July 25, at the bottom.

I was so proud of each one of you last Sunday.  You arrived early, rehearsed for a long time and then came back at the end of the service to redo.  You all are troupers!!

I feel so blessed to work along side such dedicated fellow worshippers.  May God redeem your time and richly bless you and your families.

Love in Him,

Choir song

July 6, 2010 | No Comments | Choir

Dear choir members,

I have added “The Song of Moses” to the list of songs so that you can be listening to it.  We will continue to rehearse this song as we are able.  We want to make it a full special including the brass instrumentation, etc.  I hope you enjoy listening to this wonderful song.

Blessings,

Hi guys,

You all are amazing. Your dedication to the commitment you made to the Lord is commendable and the creative team appreciates it all. Keep up the passion and stir the fire in you heart to serve the Lords house and I promise you the Lord will always make it up to you in ways you couldn’t imagine. And its usually in areas totally unrelated. As the Holy Spirit begins to move more and more amongst us we will all receive the benefits of being in His presence.

Now let me address quickly a simple challenge were facing in order to give you a heads up on the possible direction some of our services will be taking in the near future. Its my perception that we will need to be prepared for a greater level of flexibility in regard to service format in months to come. This means that songs are going to be decided on the fly as the Spirit leads Ps George and myself regarding the service. The requirement of you is not only in your flexible attitude but also in your standard of excellence. The standard of excellence Im referring to is in regard to how many songs you know off by heart. OLD and NEW… I am aware that chord charts are still required by many of you in order to play our tunes. In the near future I will be cracking down on those of you who repeatedly demonstrate that you have little if any knowledge of the songs you are playing without a chart. Its only reasonable that at least 80% of the song should be known off by heart. The charts should only be a reference. If we end up playing the same songs for 5 weeks (which is increasingly becoming our standard practice), it’s only fare that you should know the song by the second week freeing you to really minister the song rather than be bogged down in the mechanical aspects making sure your playing the right chords. Some of you who increasing find it difficult to attain this level of excellence can only conclude that as time progresses on and others join the team, your service in this area will be reduced in favor of those who can flow in a service because they know the song! This isn’t a personal thing – its just logical. You know I love you all and Im committed to each of you as friends however I have to start lifting the standards now.

In fairness – in the past in other churches and organizations, I have required that only small chord chart ‘cards’ be allowed on stage and therefor there is no need for music stands. Other than that I have had the chords written above the lyrics on the screen at the back of the auditorium so that like the singers you as a musician can reference the chords that needs to be played. These ideas have been implemented in the past and I am endeavoring to find the most suitable solution in light of our current technology limitations. If you have any other suggestions as to the management and implementation of a systems that ensures we know off by heart alot more songs please let me know.

Pack it to the BACK

Love you guys…

David

Hello Creative Choir,

As you can see, the May calendar is up on the website.  Please refer to this if you misplace your hard copy.  Also, please allow me this opportunity to encourage you to do everything in your power to be in attendance at all rehearsals and services.  As we move into the spring and summer months and people take vacations, we need to shore up the attendance when others are gone.  Let us encourage each other to set our ministry as a top priority in our lives.  HONK!!               May 2010 Creative Choir Calendar

Hi guys,

I remember seeing this powerful illustration in a leadership book years ago. It spoke to me about FOCUS and I want to share it with you because this will help us become more productive and accomplish more for the Kingdom.  The book taught – The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.”
Foxes pursue many ends at the same time and see the world in all its complexity. They are scattered or diffused, moving on many levels.
Hedgehogs simplify a complex world into a single organizing idea, a basic principle or concept that unifies and guides everything. For a hedgehog, anything that does not somehow relate to the hedgehog idea holds no relevance.

Here are some powerful focusing questions we need to ask ourselves. Lets look at the chart below and ask ourselves these questions…

1.What can we be the best in the world at (and, equally important, what we cannot be the best in the world at)‏
What we can be the best at might not even be something in which we are currently engaged in doing!
2.What drives our economic engine?
Must discover the single denominator (profit per X ) that has the greatest impact on our economics/budgeting.
3.What are we deeply passionate about?
What do we have a genetic or God-given talent to do?  What do we enjoy doing that we absolutely love to do, enjoying the actual process for its own sake?

IN CONCLUSION…. If we can get the blue happening at Cre8ive then I believe we will be unstoppable.  Comment below with what you believe is your answers!

Thanks –
